PADI® Beginner Open Water Scuba Class

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI® Open Water Diver course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba agency.

Our teaching staff is comprised of dedicated and skilled instructors with the goal of creating a fun, safe, and enjoyable experience. We aim to have small class sizes with a high staff to student ratio, so you can learn with safety and comfort as a priority.

All of our classes are taught exclusively in Dry Suits so you can stay warm and dry no matter the conditions. Learning in a drysuit qualifies you to dive in cold water and in warmer waters using wetsuits.

Class Schedule

Our class consists of 4 phases

E-learning

The PADI eLearning is your digital textbook used to learn scuba diving principles, terminology, and other information required to be a safe and confident diver.
All 5 sections and the final exam are required to be completed before the first classroom session.
The PADI eLearning is included in your course tuition when you sign up.

Gear Fitting

Before the course start date students are asked to come in for a fitting of the provided gear. The provided gear is everything except the 4 personal snorkeling items. The 4 personal items are your mask, fins, snorkel, and hood. You will have the option to rent or own these. During the fitting you will have a chance to see the gear and make an informed decision about what you want to own or rent. The course tuition covers everything else you will need to complete the class.

Classroom/Pool

The first weekend of your course consists of both classroom and pool time. The classroom is a chance for the instructor to make sure everyone is on the same page and has a thorough understanding of what the eLearning covers. This is followed by pool time where you complete the required swim tests and learn the 24 scuba skills.

Open Water Dives

The second weekend of your course is when you complete the open water dives. With the help of your instructor and other certified assistants, you will complete 5 open water training dives where you will demonstrate mastery of the scuba skills you learned and explore the Puget Sound!
